A screw from an unknowen source distroyed the impeller and the diffuser.
IT WAS EASY TO DISASSEMBLE EVERYTHING DOWN TO THE IMPELLER. THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE IMPELLER TO THE MOTOR SHAFT WOULDN'T BUDGE. I TRIED TO SOAK IT WITH PENETRATING OIL AND ATTEMPTED TO LOOSEN IT BY HOLDING THE BROKEN IMPELLER WITH VICE GRIPS. EVERY TIME I TRIED TO LOOSEN IT MORE PIECES WOULD BREAK OFF THE IMPELLER UNTIL ALL THAT WAS LEFT WAS THE MOTOR SHAFT WHICH WAS HEX SHAPED.( A NICE SURPRISE) AT THAT POINT I COULD USE A BOX WRENCH TO HOLD THE SHAFT. THAT'S WHEN THE BOLT BROKE. WHAT TO DO NOW? I FOUND THAT A #14X 3/4 SHEET METAL SCREW THREADED DOWN INTO THE SHAFT NICELY. I INSTALLED THE NEW IMPELLER. PUT SOME SUPER GLUE DOWN IN THE HOLE AND RAN THE SCREW IN. HAVE USED THE WASHER 3 TIMES NOW AND IT STILL HASN'T COME APART. TO BE HONEST, I DON'T EXPECT IT TO LAST TOO LONG, BUT I DON'T FAULT OF THIS SITE. IT WAS JUST BAD LUCK THAT THE BOLT WAS BADLY RUSTED INTO THE SHAFT. I PROBABLY COULD HAVE SAVED THE PROJECT BY TAKING THE WASHER OUT OF THE CABINET AND PULLING THE MOTOR, BUT DECIDED IF I HAD TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT STUFF I'D JUST BUY A NEW WASHER. THANKS, YOUR DRAWINGS WERE GOOD AND THE VIDEOS WERE SOMEWHAT HELPFUL. DAVE
