Both door springs were broken
I agree with those people who convinced me to just remove the top two mounting screws from the dish washer. The only problem I had was getting the legs up onto the kitchen linoleum, which is where the putty knives came in to play. I wedged them under the legs and then slid the dishwasher up and out of the cavity about a foot and replaced both springs without any problem. Sliding the washer back into place was a snap; replaced the two mounting screws and DONE!
