Product Description
The upper spray arm is found above the top rack in your dishwasher. If your dishes are not properly cleaned after the cycle has finished, the spray arm may need to be replaced. As the part is made of plastic, it can crack or disintegrate over time. Replacing this OEM part is a simple repair that does not require any tools. Remove the rail stop clips from the top rack rails, and then remove the top rack from the dishwasher. With the rack out of the way you will be able to access the upper spray arm. Unthread the nut holding the spray arm to the ceiling of the dishwasher, and remove the damaged spray arm. Line up the new spray arm, and begin to thread the part onto the inlet tube. The nut should be firmly tightened so that there are no leaks, and the spray arm should be able to spin freely. The top rack can be placed back inside the dishwasher, and the rail stops reattached.

Step 2: When trying to screw the part into the threaded pipe on the top of the dishwasher, the threads on the new part did not match! I am not sure if the mismatch was the threads-per-inch or the diameter, because the ... Read more diameters (about 1.5 inch) were similar. However, I noticed that the threaded part was removable and had the same inner diameter as that of the new part.
Step 3: Removed new threaded part from the new swing arm, and replace with the old threaded part. This part of the old assembly was in good condition. So, this makes a hybrid: old threaded "nut" clicks onto the new swing arm. I used the small flat-head screwdriver to push the plastic barbs a little bit to ensure they properly attach the two parts.
Step 4: Screw the assembly into the upper threaded pipe where it belongs. All is well. Multiple dish-washings later, it is still OK.
