Regulator switch over too propane
For model number ICS300RQ04
Hello Nathan, thank you for contacting us. To convert your oven from natural gas to propane you will need to access the regulator and adjust the plastic plug on the cap. Take a wrench and unscrew the cap. Under the cap, you will find a plug. The gas type that the regulator is set for is closest to the cap which would be natural gas. Take the plug out, rotate and place the opposite end inside the cap and snap it in. The plug will have the gas type molded into it. We hope this helps. Good luck with your repair!

Remove grills and caps on top of burners. There are two screws holding each burner in place. They require a star tip screw driver which you may need to buy. Remove them. I would do one at a time to keep things in order. Once removed you will see down in a hold that the small brass orifice nut is down the bottom of a shaft of sorts. You
... Read more need to have a nut driver that fits (I think 3/8) on the end of a screw driver handle to get to them. This is how you do it as you don't take the bottom off the cooktop. You will be nervous about them falling off on the way out and the new ones falling off on the way in. You don't want to let that happen. It was not too big a deal for me as it set up in the nut driver rather far and didn't easily fall out. A trick for installing the new ones is to put a small piece of paper towel on the nutdriver and push the new orifice into it and it holds it snug when putting the new one down the shaft. Ok, this conversion kit of new orifices is color coded and there are no instructions. Worse yet there are really no instructions online. There apparently was a separate "part" with instructions but I'm not convinced it actually exists. I think a guy at "Dave's repair" website gave the best advice on the color coding. Basically green is the largest and 12,000 BTU (my model front left). Red are the smallest and 5,000-6000 BTU (rear left and front right). The blue is just smaller than the green and I used on my second largest burner (right rear) and around 11,000 BTU and then there are three solid brass with no color. I only needed one more and it went on my center burner which is approximately 9000 BTU. All BTU in propane, and there should be a sticker on the back of your unit with the BTU for each burner. The other two brass ones are not needed as these conversions kits are reported to be universal for Whirlpool and necessary if you have a stove too. I hope I got all of the colors correct but they look correct now that it is burning. The flames appear consistent with the burner size. You can see a variation in orifice hole sizes just looking at them as well but it is difficult to see between some colors. Ok, one more very important tip. You are not done. The low setting will be too high. You will burn everything and not be able to simmer things. You remove the handles one at a time. There is a burner adjustment screws at the very bottom of the metal shaft that holds the handles. You need a narrow flat screw driver, and I mean narrow. You may need to grind one to work. Now light an individual burner to the lowest setting, pull off handle, insert screwdriver, turn it slowly to adjust the flame at the lowest setting. You can make it too low. You should not be able to easily blow it out. Repeat for all burners and enjoy gas cooking! You are welcome for all the info as for some reason it is hard to come by. Some instructions would have been nice. By the way, I also had to buy the pressure regulator since mine was missing. You likely have one on yours. You need to remove the largest cap nut and there is a plastic post type thing likely attached to the cap or just sitting in there. It needs to be flipped over (upside down) for propane. Then simply replace the cap. Good luck!
