Thermocouple
-
Product Description
This is a genuine OEM replacement part that has been sourced directly from the manufacturer. The thermocouple measures temperature and acts as a sensor for the thermoelectric valve. When the pilot light is on it heats the thermocouple, which creates and sends voltage to the valve. When the light goes off the voltage travelling to the valve stops, signaling to the valve that the flow of gas needs to stop. This safety mechanism stops dangerous levels of gas from building up. The thermocouple will become less effective and accurate over time, which is why it is important to routinely check this part and replace it as required. The fittings are made of brass, and the connector is made of copper. This part is sold individually.
