Product Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement part that has been sourced directly from Rigid. Once the air in your compressor has been pumped by the piston and cylinder the reed valve allows to air to travel into the air tank. The reed valve is similar in faction to a check valve, when the air in the compressors tank has reached the designated PSI the pump and motor shutoff, when that happens the reed valve closes not allowing air to escape back into the pump. Overtime this part will become less effective and need to be replaced. If the reed valve in your compressor is not functioning properly you might notice air leaking, and you might notice your compressor never reaches the desired PSI level. The outlet reed valve is made of metal, and it is sold individually. Before starting this repair make sure you disconnect the power to your compressor, and drain the air from the tank.
