This is a genuine OEM part that has been sourced directly from Max. Retainer rings are installed in a groove and hold components onto a shaft or in a housing. In the case of your compressor the piston retainer ring holds the bearing and the spindle of the piston pump in the housing. If this ring is broken or damaged your engine may stall, it might run rough, the engine might not run at all, or you might notice fuel leaking from the engine. If this retainer ring is not in proper working order the piston will come loose, and you can risk doing damaging it. This piston retainer ring is sold individually.
