Product Description

This is an authentic OEM sourced replacement lower blade guard utilized on Skil saws. This part covers the blade and helps to direct dust and trimmings away from the user while the unit is in operation. Please note, this assembly includes (1) metal guard and (1) metal spring that helps it to retract. You will need a hex key and a wrench to replace this lower blade guard. Note: This blade guard fits Skilsaw model HD77 type 17 only. It will not fit any other type.

Bottom blade guard was broken
Remoting the old guard was easy... remove blade and retaining hardware. Remove keeper ring and the guaRd comes right off.
However, the newer blade guard base was thicker than the old one so I had to grind it down and file in a new taper to fit. Easily took off 0.1 inches.
Old equipment needs imagination.
