This is an OEM quality chain tensioner for a chainsaw. This part is attached to the adjustment screw and fits into an opening on the bar. When you turn the adjuster it moves the tensioner, which either tightens or loosens the chain on the bar. Usually when the chain tensioner is damaged, it is because the bar has been over-tightened. Over-tightening strips the threads out of the pin or adjustment screw. You will need to remove the brake assembly bar and chain from the saw to access this part.
