This package contains one individual water filter that is NSF-certified, and OEM approved. To ensure that the filter is successfully removing contaminants, it will need to be replaced at least every 6 months or 200 gallons of water. This will ensure tasteless and odor-free water. It has approximate measurements of 2-1/2 inches deep, 1-1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches high. This is a simple installation. This filter is found on the interior of the refrigerator in a drop-down style housing. Pop out the old filter, slide the new filter in place and turn it until it clicks. Be careful not to over-tighten. Close the cover. Run your dispenser to activate the filter and clear out air bubbles. A loud air pressure sound is completely normal. Reset your water filter indicator if applicable.

Light switch no longer worked
Turn off and unplug your refrigerator. I used the screwdriver on the left side of the part (where the plug is) and used the putty knife at the same time on the right side to push the spring lock portion of the part in. The part snapped out. I unplugged the left contact from the plug and put it on the new part, then I unplugged the right contact and put it on the new part. I did this so the wires would not go up into the refrigerator and be hard to find. I put the left side of the new part where the plug and contacts are in first then I snapped the right side in place. I plugged the refrigerator back in and it worked perfectly. Just take your time and gently remove and reconnect the new part. The store where I bought my refrigerator wanted $69.95 for a service call plus an hourly charge and part charge. Count on this site for your parts and do it yourself. If your freezer has stopped making ice cubes, it may be time to replace your ice maker. Normal wear and tear, or accidental damage may be the cause of this. This model includes the control device and ice mold, which are made of plastic and metal, and measure approximately 11 inches long by 5 inches wide. The capacitor, also known as a run capacitor, is a component in your fridge that allows the compressor to cycle on and off to maintain a constant temperature. If your fridge and freezer are too warm it may be necessary to replace the capacitor. Other symptoms include an unusually noisy and overheated compressor. You can check the capacitor for continuity using a multimeter. This is a genuine OEM replacement part made of black plastic that measures 1 inch by 1.5 inches. When replacing this part, be sure to check the electrical contacts on the old capacitor. If they are corroded or burnt, you will need to replace the overload relay assembly as well. Be sure to disconnect the power supply to your refrigerator before beginning this repair.

Both comparments very warm but fan working and lights on
Bought Capacitor, but I had to purchase Combo Start Up Kit that Cap goes into. The site said that 78% of the time my problem of both compartments being warm were resolved/repair by replacing Capacitor, but when the item was replaced it did not and my son looked further and found that it would then be the Combination Start Up Kit (Part# PS11740412), which starts the compressor. This part includes one authentically sourced 3-pin rocker switch for a refrigerator. It is responsible for turning the light on inside the fridge when the door is open. It is commonly replaced because the light has stopped turning on with the door open. For this simple repair, start by disconnecting the power. Use a putty knife and a flathead screwdriver to pry the door switch out of the liner. Disengage the wire harness to release the damaged switch. Install the new door switch by first connecting it to the wire harness. Line the switch up on the liner and snap it into position. Power it back up and double-check that it is working.

Left door light switch broken
Unlike the easy installation in the video, this model has the switch & connector glued in with injected foam. I had to pry and dig the old switch out of the door and then dig the connector out. This was all but impossible and I put some scrapes on the door panel doing it. Installation of the new switch was a breeze after almost destroying my fridge getting the old switch outI. If you have this model, I would recommend having a pro replace it for you! One more tip, this switch not only controls the light but also controls the ice maker, so if you botch the job, your ice maker won't work either! Read more...

The defrost timer works on a predetermined schedule, to alternate between the cooling cycle and the defrost heater in your freezer. When the heating circuit is activated, it melts any ice that has formed on the evaporator coils, then the cooling system is started again. If ice builds up the evaporator, it reduces the airflow and the efficiency of your freezer. If the defrost timer has failed, it can cause the temperature in your fridge or freezer to get too warm, or it can cause ice buildup since the heating circuit will not be activated. You can test this part with a multimeter to see if it has continuity. If you need to replace this part, this is a genuine OEM replacement defrost timer. It measures approximately 3 inches long and 2.5 inches wide and is 60Hz and 120V.

Refrigerator and freezer were warming to a temperature that was too warm.
Refrigerator and freezer were warming to a temperature that was too warm. I've known about defrost timers being a major part of the " frost free" design. In my model of refrigerator, the defrost timer is located at the bottom left on the left frame rail, behind a sheet metal mounting plate. Next to the drain pan. I recognized it with a flash light, and the one way knob that can only be turned in one direction. I turned the knob to manually advance the timer, then the compressor started, but be gentle with this practice as it can strip the plastic gears. If you lift the knob as you turn it, it will disengage the teeth of the gear and just turn the cam itself, stopping the defrost cycle and starting the refrigerating cycle. Then it's good for approx. 24 hours. Then it hung up again in the same spot. I did this for a week because I didn't have the time. Then I looked up my frige model number, and I found this site on a web search. I ordered the part over the phone with the helpful sales rep, just to confirm the part number. I've read about ten pages of the same repair from this website. Nothing I recognized as my frige. But the site had an exploded view of my frige and putting 2 & 2 together I nailed it down. Ordered the part, 2 1/2 days it was here. The instructions for your particular model may have the color coding listed, mine was not. So I figured my model was too old, the wiring diagram was simalar to mine on procedure 1. Long story. It took me longer to write this than to do the actual repair. This genuine OEM part is an end cap for the door shelf retainer bar in your refrigerator. The end cap is used to secure the retainer bar and attach it to the fridge or freezer door. It is made of white plastic and is sold individually. If the retainer bar is not staying in place, a damaged end cap could be to blame. The retainer bar has release tabs that will need to be unhooked in order to remove the damaged end cap. The new end cap can then be snapped into place on the retainer bar and installed back inside the fridge. No tools should be required for this repair, but a flat blade screwdriver may help to release the locking tabs.
