We are an ecommerce market leader for replacement parts in the USA and Canada. We’re always looking for smart, creative people to join our team and a great opportunity awaits a self-directed and experienced Warehouse Manager to run our new Canadian parts distribution centre.

The Warehouse Manager will lead our new warehouse team in the setup, development, and daily operation of our distribution centre in addition to working with other teams and departments and reporting to the Controller to optimize and adapt the operation as needed. The ideal candidate will need significant proven experience in a similar position and offer subject matter expertise to assist management in establishing this new function.

As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible to:
  • Lead the physical setup of the warehouse for distribution activities
  • Collaborate with management in the development of procedures and processes to establish an efficient daily operation
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision for the warehouse
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies, processes, and procedures
  • Manage inventory processes by conducting physical inventory counts, reconciling with data storage system, and performing other inventory processes as directed
  • Ensure complete and accurate recordkeeping relating to shipping, receiving, and inventory management
  • Achieves financial objectives in accordance with management’s direction including managing expenditures, producing reports, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action
  • Uphold industry safety standards and foster a safety conscious environment in compliance with company policy and current legislation requirements
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse as it pertains to distribution by facilitating necessary repairs and ensuring both organization and efficient space utilization
  • Maintains warehouse staff by assisting in the recruiting, onboarding, and training of new warehouse employees
  • Maintains warehouse staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Perform warehouse staff scheduling and administrative tasks including approving and tracking sick and vacation time and approving payroll input
  • Act as intermediary between warehouse employees, applicable departments, vendors, and transport companies to facilitate efficient operations and problem-solving
  • Redirect warehouse efforts as needed and directed

The skills and attributes required in this position include:
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience as a warehouse manager
  • Expertise in warehouse management best practice processes and procedures
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software, databases, and systems
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and coach a team of employees
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy objects and climb a ladder
  • Ability to operate light warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to adapt and gain commitment from employees to changes in processes and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of current technology including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work in Canada
The skills and attributes that are considered an asset for this position include:
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, preferably in logistics and supply chain management
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Experience transitioning a warehousing environment from paper to electronic
  • Current forklift license

This is a permanent full-time (40 hours) position and includes evening and weekend hours. Standardized testing may be conducted as part of the screening process.
