About Us is a division of Eldis Group Partnership (EGP), an ecommerce company with offices in the USA and Canada, headquartered in Nova Scotia. We help people fix their home appliances, outdoor power tools and lawn equipment. EGP operates a family of web sites and have been online since 1999. We provide consumers with the parts and know-how to fix their products, offering the internet’s largest collection of replacement parts, step-by-step installation instructions and videos. EGP is committed to helping consumers repair rather than replace their products.

Role Description

Over next year, we're emphasizing better customer research and testing to develop insights that contribute to the strategy and implementation of a customer-centric experience design methodology. This role will promote empathy for our users/customers and help form common ground within our organization.

You will primarily assist the creative director and design team but will also work in collaboration with other teams from time to time, like content, marketing, and development. You will help analyze, synthesize, and organize both qualitative and quantitative data. Your research will generate insights that help teams and stakeholders understand problems and guide decisions to reduce frustration and create more delight for our customers.

This is a new role, and we're looking for someone who has unique experiences to share and can be patient as we establish new research and testing methods/processes. In exchange, you will learn a lot about the unique challenges in the e-commerce industry and work with passionate and talented marketers, developers, designers, copywriters, and more.

  • Develop research plans to help answer business questions
  • Assist with A/B testing, remote testing, heuristic analysis, recruiting usability test participants, planning and conducting user interviews, etc.
  • Assist with tasks such as: Writing user stories/scenarios, feature mapping, journey/experience mapping, persona development, competitive analysis, user and business goal analysis, etc.
  • Assist with formal and informal user testing approaches to evaluate current product features and new design decisions
  • Use quantitative data analysis in concert with qualitative research
  • Organize research and present findings into documentation that can be shared with and easily understood by teams and stakeholders
  • Clearly and effectively communicate research and testing processes to teams and stakeholders
  • Balance the needs of several concurrent projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Required Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (In either Marketing, Business, UX, Design, Computer Science, or a related field)
  • Two or more years of professional experience (In either UX research, design, service design, marketing, start-ups, consulting, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of human-centered design and design thinking
  • Demonstrated experience (professional or educational) with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Experience with some research, statistical, and/or analytics tools (e.g.,, HotJar, Survey Monkey, SAS, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Must be collaborative in nature and be open to receiving feedback
  • Must be able to work in Canada
