Fix.com is a division of Eldis Group Partnership (EGP), an ecommerce company with offices in the USA and Canada. We help do-it-yourselfers (DIY) fix their home appliances, outdoor power tools and lawn equipment. EGP operates a family of DIY web sites and have been online since 1999. We provide consumers with the parts and know-how to fix their household products themselves, offering the internet’s largest collection of step-by-step installation instructions and videos. EGP is committed to helping consumers repair rather than replace their household products.

The Accounting and Payroll Manager will provide payroll and accounting services to the organization. Reporting to the Controller, you will use established procedures and your experience to ensure that day to day accounting and payroll transactions are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Account receivable
  • Accounts payable and vendor reconciliations
  • Payroll processing and year end payroll filings
  • Payroll journal entries, adjustments & reconciliations
  • Preparing ROE’s & T4’s
  • Processing invoices and expense reimbursements
  • Process certain month-end and year end transactions
  • Comply with company policies and IFRS accounting standards
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports
  • Assist with external audits
  • Ad-hoc projects
Qualifications
  • A Post-Secondary Degree or Community College with experience
  • 3 + years of experience in payroll and general accounting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic account procedures
  • Hands-on experiences with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically excel)
Qualifications Considered an Asset
  • Recognized professional designations (Accounting & Payroll)
  • Familiarity with Ceridian’s cloud-based software – Dayforce
  • Familiarity with Microsoft’s business accounting software – Great Plains (GP)

This is a full-time, in-person position (not telecommuting) working out of our Truro office location. The successful candidate must be a self-starter capable of learning on their own.
